This article examines the main achievements of the geo-information system. The results of the study of geo-
information systems of foreign countries are analyzed. An algorithm for creating a geo-information database is shown. A
program of geo-information databases for the construction of geological engineering maps of the territories was developed. A
good assessment of engineering and geological conditions in the territories of the city of Astana was made. The results of
engineering and geological surveys are analyzed and studied. The zoning of the territory of Astana by types of grounds is
determined. A map is made to optimize the length of the piles. Comparative analyzes of the type and timing of works on
the proposed geo-information system and an alternative engineering-geological survey are shown. Special geotechnical maps
of Quaternary sediments and bedrocks have been constructed. The program "Geo-information database" is presented on the
materials of engineering and geological surveys in Astana.
